Development Manager Katy Franz, a native Oregonian, graduated from University of Oregon with a degree in Journalism, emphasis Public Relations and a minor in Theater Arts. Before coming to Artists Rep in 2005 her public relations and development experience included working for the Lord Leebrick Theatre and the Oregon Festival of American Music in Eugene, OR. Her love of theater dates back to being a wee child actor in a community production of the Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Her high school and college years were also filled with acting and two of her favorite memories include playing the mom in Edward Albee’s The American Dream & playing Aunt Abby in Arsenic & Old Lace. The summer of 2002 Katy was a paid actor in a Eugene children’s theater company. This fun but exhausting experience truly made her realize actors aren’t paid enough and thus fundraising for theater is so important. When Katy isn’t at work or throwing divine parties she enjoys watching old movies, hiking in the gorge, baking scones and planning her dream trip around the world.
